POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) A homeless, paraplegic man was hit over the head, robbed of his wheelchair and $94, leaving him on the ground near a drive-through bank window earlier this week in Pompano Beach.
While Richard Denise, 64, recuperates from his wounds at the North Broward Medical Center on Thursday, a donor presented him with a motorized wheelchair.
“I thought he was going to kill me,” said Denise, when describing the beating.

The money stolen from Denise, he says was destined to go to his sick mother.
“I will never forget this as long as I live,” said Denise, as he held back tears.
