Cold Weather Outreach Success
The Homeless Voice and it's emergency cold weather outreach was very successful last night.
A special thank you to everyone who dropped off blankets and sweatshirts. We were able to have plenty of warm clothes for everyone who needed it.
The cold weather is still here. If you want to help us with a donation, please click here

Homeless Voice Expands Cold Weather Outreach
Sean Cononie, stated, "We put out more outreach vehicles and teams of workers than we have ever done for the current cold weather warnings." Ten crews went out and covered most of Broward County and a little of North Dade. Cononie added, "At a time of us taking 80 percent of our vendors off the streets from selling our paper because it was so cold the outreach became very expensive." Each night of outreach and bringing the homeless back to our shelters cost an additional $3100.00 per night. According to Cononie, "There are times you have to spend money when it is not budgeted for the protection of human life and we will get blessed one way or another and somehow the money will come back in to us for the next emergency"
