Don’t Do What I Have Done

Remember the song “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks?
Now hear a new version – but with the words changed to help people see where drugs can lead.

This is the updated version of the song “Don’t Do What I Have Done” featuring Robbie Hazen.
The song “Don’t Do What I Have Done” is part of an anti-drug campaign. Most people that start using hard drugs do not think about the consequences. This song plays out an extreme case that ends in death. If you would like to use this song for any reason, please contact us.

The History

After 32 years Sean Cononie meets Terry Jacks, the original singer to “Seasons in the Sun”. Terry spent several days with Sean, Mike O’Hara and Mark Targett (photographer). Sean continues to plan to make an anti-drug video using the song he wrote to help kids stop using drugs.

Lyrics

Good Bye To You My Druggy Friends
We’ve Taken Ludes Since We Were Nine Or Ten
Together We Sniffed Coke And T
Learned Of Acid And PCP
Caught By Cops And Still Proceed
Good Bye My Friends It’s Time To Die
With All The Drugs We Took To Get This High
Now That The Smoke Is In The Air
Pretty Colors Everywhere
When You See Them I Won’t Be There
We Had Joints We Had Fun We Had Opium In The Sun
That The Wine And Bongs Made Us Feel As We Were Gone
Good Bye My Dealer Please Pray For Me
I Was The Burn Out Of The Family
You Tried To Sell Me Broken Bongs
Too Much Wine And Too Much Rum
Wonder How We Lived So Long
Good Bye My Dealer It’s Time To Die
My Body Is Gone From All The Drugs You Sold
Now That The Smoke Is In The Air
Pretty Colors Everywhere
When You See Them I Won’t Be There
We Had Joints We Had Fun We Had Opium In The Sun
That The Wine And Bongs Made Us Feel As We Were Gone
We Had Joints We Had Fun We Had Opium In The Sun
That The Wine And Bongs Made Us Feel As We Were Gone
Good Bye My Friends You Were The Ones
You Gave Me Drugs And Helped Me Find The Ground.
Now That I Am Really, Really Down
I Had Wished You Came Around
But You Didn’t And I’ll Be Gone
Good Bye My Friends It’s Time To Die
When I Am Gone Please Don’t You Cry?
And Don’t Ask Yourself Why
Just Pass The Word All Around
Don’t Do What I Have Done
We Had Joints We Had Fun
Now It’s Time To Settle Down
Pass The Word All Around
Don’t You Do What I Have Done
We Had Joints We Had Fun
Now It’s Time To Settle Down
Pass The Word All Around
Don’t You Do What I Have Done
We Had Joints We Had Fun
Now It’s Time To Settle Down
Pass The Word All Around
Don’t You Do What I Have Done
We Had Joints We Had Fun
Now It’s Time To Settle Down
Pass The Word All Around
Don’t You Do What I Have Done
