My Friend Named John
Every two years we rerun the “My Friend Named John” story because it is such a meaningful story. It's for sure a story to give thanks and praise for allowing us the chance to be a friend of John. We work all kinds of crazy hours here and no matter what time of the day it is you will see Johnny hanging out outside my office.

The Homeless Voice Doesn't Act Like Most Homeless Shelters
Sean Cononie is accustomed to interruptions — ringing phones, questions from staff, resident emergencies — but this wrench in the day was different. In August, as he worked at his paper- and cigarette-ash-littered desk, settled in his cushioned leather chair with its dust-coated plastic base, the lights flickered off and on in short spurts. The outside air felt hot and thick, and its stifling suffocation would soon creep into the Homeless Voice, the Hollywood homeless shelter Cononie founded almost 15 years ago.
Remembering Johnny - Trailer
Podcast release on January 15, 2011
You were just found a few minutes ago on the bus bench. I was raising money for a shelter that hadn't completely formed yet. We didn't know it, but our lives would be changed forever.
I think the best years of our lives started that day of the bus bench. Like a few stray strands forming a rope, we were definitely part of something bigger. COSAC was just starting out and we were just finding our purpose. Once you were with us we knew what we were supposed to be.
Cold Weather Outreach Success
The Homeless Voice and it's emergency cold weather outreach was very successful last night.
A special thank you to everyone who dropped off blankets and sweatshirts. We were able to have plenty of warm clothes for everyone who needed it.
The cold weather is still here. If you want to help us with a donation, please click here
