Sean Cononie, his homeless shelter and the legions he serves are the subjects of an 84-minute by a Hollywood-based videographer.

Sebastian Cardenas, the videographer, submitted the documentary late last month to the, among others.

Long hunting for a reality TV concept, Cardenas' notion for the documentary — entitled "My Friend Johnny" — came to him when he bought a copy of The Homeless Voice newspaper.

Lace up those sneakers, stretch out those muscles, and head over to Hollywood Beach for our first annual Race to End Homelessness!

The Homeless Voice and it's emergency cold weather outreach was very successful last night.

Sean Cononie and the COSAC Foundation, a homeless shelter in South Florida received an award last night for bringing 70 doctors and a plane full of medicine to Haiti after the earthquake.

When Jill Dornbush learned her nephew needed a place to live, she didn't hesitate to let him travel from New York to stay with her in her apartment.

It didn't matter that the Davie woman didn't have a close relationship with her nephew, Alex Dornbush. She let him stay for several months in 1993.

"She put me up and helped me out," said Alex Dornbush, 36, of Vancouver Island, Canada. "She'd help out anyone."

Jill Dornbush's nephew on Thursday remembered her as a "kind-hearted" woman whose frequent acts of good will made her a target.
